Asset Manager - Immediate opening - Richmond VA

Our client is searching for an Asset Manager for an established real estate investment company. This will report to the VP of Asset Management and operate in a lead capacity for the AM team. This will require some travel to properties - up to 25%. Responsibilities will include the following:

• Conduct analysis of financial statements and operating performance, market positioning, guest satisfaction and other key indicators for a portfolio of 30-40 properties, diligently challenging property management to respond where areas of opportunity exist
• Interact with property and above-property management to improve performance and resolve issues. Individual must be proactive in implementing action plans and tracking progress
• Evaluate property leadership effectiveness and provide timely, actionable feedback designed to support the GMs in the execution of their responsibilities.

• Serve as a liaison to third party property management and brand representatives, encouraging the achievement of company goals through detailed action plans

• Work with peers and other supporting members of Asset Management team to collaborate and improve upon our processes, decision making, and identification and follow up on perceived areas of opportunity

• Evaluate the impact of and implement brand initiatives with the goal of finding the most cost-effective solution while still maintaining the highest guest satisfaction

• Ensure third party management’s compliance with management contracts and strategically negotiate with management when necessary to maximize return on investment

• Take on special projects that are critical to the success of the business

SPECIFIC SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Demonstrable record of academic achievement, strong analytic skills, and an eagerness to learn
• Must be a highly motivated, goal-oriented self-starter with the ability to provide innovative solutions and execute strategies to achieve results
• Ability to tackle numerous projects simultaneously
• Ability to develop and foster relationships with peers and senior management, third-party managers, and various consultants through effective oral and written communications to motivate them to perform above and beyond expectations
• Willingness to travel frequently to visit priority properties and report findings to executive management

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

• Education: BA/BS, concentration in accounting, finance, or hospitality preferred

• Work experience: Preferably 4-8+ years of relevant experience
