Job Description
Description We are looking for a dedicated Credentialing Specialist to join our team in Palm Springs, California. In this Contract-to-Employment position, you will play a key role in ensuring healthcare providers are enrolled efficiently with contracted payers, adhering to industry regulations and organizational standards. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, compliance-driven environment and has strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers in accurately completing payer enrollment and re-enrollment applications, ensuring compliance with all guidelines and regulations.
- Review and organize provider applications and supporting documents for submission to contracted payers.
- Conduct thorough follow-ups with payers to expedite approval processes, aiming to optimize billing opportunities and minimize claim adjustments.
- Maintain detailed and up-to-date records of enrollment statuses, effective dates, and related documentation in the provider enrollment database.
- Create and manage a comprehensive health plan contract information sheet to track enrollment statuses and re-enrollment timelines.
- Identify and report emerging issues related to credentialing, providing recommendations to leadership for resolution.
- Collaborate with the Revenue Cycle Team to address credentialing challenges and maintain a shared status database.
- Assist providers with hospital privilege requirements, if applicable.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure smooth credentialing processes.
- Meet or exceed performance standards and deadlines for payer enrollment while adhering to departmental policies and procedures. Requirements - Proven experience with credentialing processes and payer enrollment procedures.
- Familiarity with EHR systems and the ability to navigate them effectively.
- Strong knowledge of compliance standards and government regulations related to credentialing.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct audits and ensure accuracy in documentation.
- Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the capacity to identify issues and propose solutions.
- Effective communication skills for collaborating with various stakeholders.
