Job Description

Description Customs Brokerage Agents utilize their communication skills and industry knowledge to ensure our customer’s supply chain runs efficiently and stays compliant. They build relationships with customers and collaborate with internal teams to meet Customs Compliance standards. This is a hybrid position, must be able to reliably commute to our Burlingame, CA office twice a week. Exact compensation is based on skills, experience, education, and location. Customs Broker Agent III Job Duties Helps facilitate air/ocean customs clearances to meet the customer’s expectations. Coordinates with overseas offices and customers as necessary. Responsible for completing customs entries and maintaining communication with customers and customs officials. Responsible for proofing commodity classification and recommends reclassification to supervisor. Utilizes their knowledge and experience to proactively update the customer and/or team members and address questions regarding the status of their entries. Navigates CRM and HRIS to locate facility addresses, contact details and organization charts in order to route the customer or vendor to the proper CSR or department. Works collaboratively with team members to compile necessary documentation and performs audits for compliance on a daily basis. Uses judgment and initiative to suggest solutions to supervisor based on audit results. Additional duties as assigned. Requirements Proficient use of computer systems and applications (NetCHB, Cargowise, Salesforce) as trained/required. Makes the best use of available time and resources. Takes personal responsibility for the quality and timeliness of work. Consistently exhibits flexibility in resolving customer problems in a timely manner. Exercises good judgment in resolving general disputes or problems. Able to communicate effectively and collaborate with team members to achieve common goals. Education and Experience High school diploma and minimum 5 years of experience in customs entry writing or equivalent combination of education and experience. Physical Requirements The usual and customary methods of performing the job's essential functions require the following physical demands: operating a computer, remaining stationary for most of the shift, and occasionally moving about the workspace. The person in this position frequently exchanges information using email and other electronic communication methods and must be able to observe and report on communication received via phone and computer.
