At Ayer Animal Medical Center, you’ll feel the warmth and openness of our clinic, while having the opportunity and support of a united network. Our ideal candidate is an individual who is passionate about animal care, highly motivated, efficient, and pays attention to detail. This is a temporary, part-time position that would require working between 20-30hours a week. This role is a combination of veterinary assisting, customer service, and kennel work. 

Role Rersponsibilies:

  • Providing enrichment and ensuring comfort and well-being of boarding pets through walking, feeding, playtimes, and access to clean blankets and food/water bowls.
  • Assisting LVTs, ACAs, and DVMs with patient restraint during treatments when requested
  • Rooming patients and collecting history
  • Client education and communication
  • Facilitates socialization of pets through approved supervised playtimes.
  • Communicating via phone, email, and in person with clients and actively listening to their concerns.
  • Appointment scheduling
  • Utilizing computer information system to accurately enter client/ patient information, update and maintain medical records.
  • Processing client payments and invoices.

Experience & Skill Requirements: 

  • At least 1 year of experience in animal husbandry.  

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills. 

  • High school diploma or equivalent, AAS or higher preferred.  

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, squatting, reach, standing, and walking throughout the day.

Compensation negotiable based on credentials and experience with a hourly pay range starting at $18-20/hour. The actual rate offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
