Job Description

Intermountain Immigration is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Bilingual Immigration Law Attorney to join our team in Lehi, Utah. As a Bilingual Immigration Law Attorney, you will play a crucial role in providing legal guidance and representation to our diverse clientele in immigration matters. We are looking for a dynamic individual who is passionate about immigration law, fluent in both English and Spanish, and dedicated to serving immigrant communities.

Compensation will be based on experience. Applicants with very little or no experience may expect to start at around $70,000 per year, while more experienced attorneys might expect to start at around $85,000 to $90,000 per year, depending on experience. In addition to base pay, attorneys at the firm eventually make more money through commissions or bonuses. Important factors considered may include experience working with a team in an office environment, the number of years of practice, the variety of practice experience in different areas of immigration law, leadership experience, courtroom experience, and other related factors. For example, a younger attorney with less than three years of experience may be compensated at the lower end of the range in this job posting, while an attorney with a strong track record of success as an immigration attorney over several years may be compensated at the higher end.

We strive to provide a compensation package that is not only competitive, but that goes above and beyond the norm for immigration attorneys in the industry. We offer a base salary, 401k plan, health insurance, dental and vision insurance, a small life insurance benefit, paid time off, and coverage for license renewal and continuing legal education costs. For the right person, the firm may also offer to help cover moving costs to relocate to Utah.

Our firm has multiple remote attorneys who are based in home offices across the country.  This particular position, however, is intended as a traditional in-office position.   Please do not apply to this posting if you are looking for a remote attorney position working from home .

Responsibilities:

- Client Consultations: Conduct consultations with clients to assess their immigration needs, gather information, and provide legal advice regarding various immigration matters, including family-based, employment-based, and humanitarian visas.

- Case Management: Manage a caseload of immigration cases, including but not limited to family petitions, adjustment of status, asylum, deportation defense, and naturalization.

- Legal Research: Stay up-to-date with changes in immigration laws and regulations, and conduct legal research to ensure accurate and effective representation of clients.

- Application Preparation: Prepare and review immigration applications, petitions, and supporting documents, ensuring they meet all legal requirements and deadlines.

- Court Representation: Represent clients in immigration court proceedings, asylum interviews, and USCIS interviews, providing strong advocacy and legal defense.

- Legal Document Drafting: Draft legal documents, including affidavits, motions, briefs, and appeals, to support clients' immigration cases.

- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients, keeping them informed about the progress of their cases and addressing their concerns and questions.

- Collaboration: Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff to ensure efficient case management and client satisfaction.

- Compliance: Ensure compliance with all ethical and professional standards as required by state bar associations and immigration law governing bodies.

- Continuing Education: Stay current with changes in immigration law, attend relevant legal seminars, and engage in professional development to enhance expertise.

Requirements:

- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

- Admission to any State Bar and in good standing.

- Fluent in both English and Spanish (spoken and written).

- Preferred minimum of 3 years of experience in immigration law practice, but candidates demonstrating a strong willingness to learn will also be considered.

- Strong understanding of immigration regulations, policies, and procedures.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Empathy and cultural sensitivity towards immigrant communities.

- Commitment to providing high-quality legal services and upholding ethical standards.

At Intermountain Immigration, we are dedicated to serving the immigration needs of our clients with professionalism and compassion. If you are a bilingual immigration attorney looking to make a meaningful impact in the field of immigration law, we encourage you to apply and join our dynamic team.
