Job Description

LHH is hiring for an Instructional Designer to sit in the Whippany, New Jersey area. This person will join a growing team that is responsible for designing and developing training programs for various facets of our HR Training Department. You will conduct needs assessments, analyze development opportunities, and collaborate with leadership to make recommendations. Your expertise in instructional technology will be crucial in modifying current materials and creating new instructional programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the HR Training Department to create, develop, and update instructional programs.
  • Design and deliver training programs, including in-person classes, online courses, and self-paced learning sessions for various levels of staff.
  • Lead training sessions when needed, showcasing expertise in content and adult learning principles.
  • Regularly revise course materials to ensure they are accurate and up-to-date.
  • Work with the Manager and team to conduct training needs assessments and identify new learning opportunities.
  • Provide support to departmental employees on the use of technology and act as the go-to expert for onsite technology.
  • Establish instructional goals and develop content that aligns with these objectives.
  • Create instructional graphics, user interfaces, and final products.
  • Stay informed about and apply the latest trends and best practices in learning technologies and instructional design.
  • Develop assessments, such as tests or quizzes, to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs.
  • Maintain thorough documentation and organize course materials.
  • Assist team members with reporting requirements.
  • Keep up-to-date with field operations practices and procedures to help develop cross-organizational training materials when needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of four years’ experience in instructional design
  • In-depth knowledge of learning theories and instructional design models.
  • Lesson and curriculum planning skills.
  • Ability to write effective copy, instructional text, audio, and video scripts.
  • Proficiency in Access, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Basic HTML and Flash programming knowledge.
  • Visual design skills (Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Illustrator).
  • Experience with instructional design software preferred.
