Part-Time Check Processing Specialist

Location:  Lakewood Ranch, FL

Employment Type: Part-Time, Temporary (3 to 6 months with potential extension)

• Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Compensation: $17 per hour

Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Check Processing Specialist to join our Payment Department. In this role, you will be responsible for efficiently sorting through checks, identifying higher-value checks for verification, and mailing checks to customers. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of banking and accounting functions, be proficient in Excel, and be comfortable with email communication.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sort and filter checks, identifying those requiring additional verification based on value.
• Verify higher-value checks following company protocols.
• Prepare and mail checks to customers, ensuring accuracy in mailing details.
• Utilize Excel spreadsheets to organize, track, and maintain check records.
• Communicate effectively via email with team members and other departments as needed.

Qualifications:

• Basic knowledge of banking and accounting functions.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and email communication.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently within designated hours.
