We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Accountant to join our team in the manufacturing industry. This is a permanent position and an excellent opportunity for a seasoned professional to take on a leadership role in financial management, overseeing all aspects of accounting operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost accounting, general ledger, and financial reporting, with a proven track record of improving efficiency and accuracy.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our financial operations, including:

1. Overseeing all accounting operations, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, General Ledger, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
2. Coordinating and directing the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting any variances.
3. Preparing and publishing timely monthly financial statements.
4. Ensuring quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
5. Managing and complying with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
6. Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
7. Providing leadership and support to accounts receivable and payable departments.
8. Collaborating with the management team to support overall department goals and objectives.
9. Working closely with manufacturing personnel to understand and manage product costs.
10. Analyzing manufacturing costs and preparing regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will bring a strong professional background and the ability to contribute to our team immediately. The qualifications include:

1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or related field, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with advanced skills in Excel.
4. Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
5. Hands-on experience with accounting software packages.
6. Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
7. Strong analytical skills, accuracy, and attention to detail.
8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
9. Ability to direct and supervise.
10. CPA or CMA certification would be considered an asset.
