Job Description

ManTech seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior Systems Administrator to join our team in Herndon, VA.

The Senior Systems Administrator will be responsible for building, maintaining, and optimizing virtualized infrastructures ensuring seamless operations across Windows server environments, networking, and enterprise platforms.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Design, build, configure, maintain, & troubleshoot VMware virtual infrastructures to ensure high availalbity and optimal performance

  • Manage & administer Windows Domain environments

  • Perform installation, configurations, and administration of Windows Server environments

  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to support IT infrastructure projects, system migrations, and disaster recovery efforts.

  • Ability to work on a 24/7 weekly on call rotation

  • Ability to participate in WMA or CONUS travel

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field with 9+ years of experience in the Information Technology field

  • Strong experience building, configuring, maintaining, upgrading, tuning, troubleshooting VMware virtual infrastructures and a VMware Certified Professional - Data Center Virtualization (VCP-DCV) certification.

  • Experience managing Windows Server 2012/2016/2019; Windows Client 10/11 and with the following aspects of Windows Domain Administration: Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, & WSUS.

  • Experience with any of the following virtualization products and services: Citrix, Nutranix or HyperV

  • Working knowledge of basic networking concepts: TCP/IP, VLANs, subnets and the ability to rack, stack, install physical equipment.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)

  • Experience with EMC enterprise storage arrays

  • Experience with designing/implementing COOP plans

  • Experience administering Red Hat derivative Linux distributions

Clearance Requirements:

  • An active TS/SCI with Polygraph Clearance

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%

  • Needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.

  • Constantly positions self to maintain equipment, including under desks and in network closets.
